Wallace, the cheese-loving inventor, and Gromit, his loyal dog, have become beloved characters since their creation and are considered two of Bristol’s most iconic residents. Hot on the tails of the release of their latest film: Vengeance Most Fowl, the public art trail is back this summer to support The Grand Appeal to raise funds for Bristol Children's Hospital.

This year, Wallace and Gromit will be joined by Feathers McGraw, the mischievous penguin and Norbot, the new “smart gnome” who has a starring role in the latest film. During the trail, which runs from 30th June to 31st August, Bristol’s streets will be decorated with giant sculptures of Aardman’s classic characters —each lovingly crafted by talented artists, and each with a story to tell.

Jon McDiarmid, Marketing & Sales Director at YTL Developments said: "We're proud to have been involved with this great cause in 2018, when we not only sponsored ' ‘Pickles McPrickles’, but we were also lucky enough to house a number of the sculptures as well.

"After the auction in 2018, the sculptures from Gromit Unleashed 2 were stored at the historic Brabazon Hangars before each unique character found their forever home.”

Nicola Masters, Director of The Grand Appeal said: “Since 2013, Gromit Unleashed has generated more than £20 million for The Grand Appeal, thanks to the enormous generosity of the Bristol public. We hope to raise more money for Bristol Children’s Hospital, helping to save lives and support sick children from across the South West of England.”

The Grand Appeal supports Bristol Children’s Hospital by funding pioneering, life-saving equipment and research, including ventilators, a cardiac hybrid theatre and an inter-operative MRI scanner, so that patients have access to the best possible healthcare and life-saving equipment.

The charity provides free accommodation to families of critically ill patients through its three home-from-home facilities and ensures the hospital is a vibrant and child friendly place to help distract young patients through music therapy, art and play programmes and much more.
